Line

The line plot shows the oscillation for either observations or variables. It is particularly useful for spectroscopic data or when it is desirable to connect the plotted data points with lines.

Line plot settings:

Data range: Specifies which vectors should be plotted. The Data range for the Line plot cannot be changed since this plot type uses all available vectors of the plotted matrix.

Color: Changes the colors of the plotted lines. Available options are [FIXED]; all lines have the same color, [INDEX]; the lines are colored according to the indices of the plotted vectors, [VECTOR]; each line has a unique color, [VALUE]; the lines are colored according to the values of the selected vector, [VAR CATEGORY]; the lines are colored according to the variable category. Depending on the type of plotted vectors, this option may not be available, [OBS CATEGORY]; the plotted vectors are colored according to an observation category. Depending on the type of plotted vectors, this option may not be available. For some matrices, e.g. raw data, it is possible to color the lines according to both an observation or a variable category, [AMPLITUDE]; the lines are colored according to their amplitudes.

Size: Changes the size of the plotted shapes. If [NONE] is chosen in the combo-box for Shape, this setting has no effect.

Shape: Changes the shapes that will appear for all data points that have lines drawn between them. Available options are [NONE]; no shape will be plotted, [FIXED]; all shapes are the same, [OBS CATEGORY]; the shapes are based on an observation category, [VAR CATEGORY]; the shapes are based on an variable category.

Comment: Changes the comment that will be shown when the mouse pointer hovers above an object. Available options are [NONE]; no comment is used; [CUSTOM]; the user can enter a custom comment in the advanced settings. [CATEGORY]; an observation category or a variable category is used as comment.

X-axis labels : Changes the labeling of the X-axis. Available options are [NONE]; no labels are used, [INDEX]; the indices of the plotted vector are used as labels, [IDENTIFIER]; depending on the type of the plotted vectors, either an observation identifier or a variable identifier is used as label, [CATEGORY]; depending on the type of the plotted vectors, either an observation category or a variable category is used as label, [VALUE]; the values of the selected vector is used as label.
