Identifiers are used as descriptions for observations or variables. They can be names, tags, descriptions etc. Identifiers are never used for model calculations. From the table menu, new identifiers can be added for both observations and variables as a new modification. New identifiers can be created as indices or from the clipboard. If the clipboard has more items than the number of observations (or variables), it is truncated to fit the actual number. It is also necessary to give the appropriate delimiter (Newline, Comma, Space etc).

As shown below, an identifier can be renamed or removed by right-clicking on its column in the DataSet. The user must apply changes to the DataSet in order for this to take effect.
